What is Breakout score
How many times a post beat this creator’s usual numbers in the set you researched.
Breakout score is a research signal, not a scientific ranking. It asks: did this post beat how this creator usually does in the set you pulled?
Feedlyy takes up to 25 of the creator’s recent posts from your sort, leaves out pinned posts and anything published in the last three days, and takes the median. Every post is divided by that median. On the profile grid, where Reels and photos sit together, it scores on likes. On the Reels tab it scores on views. 2.0× means twice their usual.
Very recent posts are left out of the baseline because they are still collecting views. The median is used rather than the average, so one past hit can’t raise the bar for everything else.
- Sorting by likes shows what is biggest.
- Sorting by Breakout score shows what overperformed for this creator.
- Hover a card to see its multiple next to likes and comments.
- Posts at 2× or more earn one to three lightning bolts in the corner. Bolts are rationed, so a grid gets a handful, and three bolts mark the top of what’s on screen. Hover the bolts to see the post against the creator’s median.
- Pinned posts show a pin. They are scored, but left out of the baseline, because creators pin old hits.
If there aren’t enough posts older than three days to build a baseline, the results header says so and ranks by views instead. If nothing reaches 2×, it says that too: the creator’s results are consistent, and there’s no breakout to find.
Breakout score is included on Free and comes through to Excel, CSV and JSON exports as its own column. It works on Instagram profiles, because it needs one creator’s history to compare against.
