Why it broke out
NewSee why a post beat the creator’s usual numbers, and turn it into your next post.
Why it broke out compares one post with the rest of your research and tells you what set it apart. It is on Free and Pro, needs no extra setup, and opens instantly.
Open it
- 1Run research on an Instagram profile.
- 2Click a post to open it in the player, then click Why it broke out or press A. You can also click Why it broke out → under a card.
- 3The Feedlyy side panel opens on the Analysis tab with the breakdown.
What you see
- The verdict. How many times the creator’s usual numbers the post reached, its rank in your research, and how it won: a conversation starter, reaching new people, or a crowd favourite. Likes, comments, and views each show how far above usual they were.
- Why it broke out. Up to four reasons, backed by numbers, such as “Comments ran 13× the usual” or “A bold claim. Only 2 of the other 24 posts do this.”
- The hook. The first line of the caption, labelled by type (number, question, bold claim, list, how-to, or story), with Copy hook.
- What works for this creator. What their top posts share compared with the rest, such as “5 of top 5 are Reels”, and whether this post follows the pattern.
- Make it yours. Three fill-in-the-blank hooks and a short recipe: the hook, format, length, ending, and when to post.
Use it
- Copy a hook template and fill the blanks with your topic and audience.
- Click Copy full brief to copy the hook, the reasons, the patterns, and the recipe for your notes or script.
- Save the post or file it in a collection from the same panel.
The reasons are clues from the numbers, not guarantees. Instagram does not show shares, saves, or where views came from. Creator patterns need at least 8 scored posts, so research more posts for sharper results.
